Marathon a Mind Game

All is in mind” , I call Marathon ‘a mind game’ where your consistently , determination and patience could kill your inner foes like laziness, ignorance inconfidence.
It’s has been a year since I have started running. I did Indore Marathon 2016 in 2:29 mins n SAtara hill Marathon in September 2016 within 2:32 mins.
I have never thought of such activitie. However I always use to be fitness freak and deit concious but this long run took me to other dimensions. It told me its not only the body that should be kept fit but you need to polish your mind for consiousness. It’s your mind that don’t let us to rise early. It’s only our mind which couldn’t resist eating fast food. Our mind fools us that our body needs comfort. It’s just our mind which let us to step out of our comfort zone.
But when we conquer our mind we become free. We discovers that our body is far more better than what we use to think. And it’s mind which runs body.
Running gave be such awareness and more concious mind.
However, you should never jump directly to the long run. You need to prepare well and eat well. Yes there is no limit, we can use our mind n as said mind drives body but remember our body needs preparation. And each body has different composition. I am listing out my experiences here which I learnt from 2 Marathons:
1. For any cardio activity like long run you need good stamina. You need really very strong core muscles otherwise you would get stomachache while running and it would force you to stop. So before you register for Marathon make sure u have done strong core excercise.
2. Your leg muscles like carbs n thigh should be strong enough so that the friction u get by hitting ground by Ur feet should not harm Ur knee. (I suffered by knee Ace for more than 3 months after Satara Marathon bcoz I had nt worked on my legs well).
3. Flexible body adds a big benefit to Ur running. Chance of getting injured reduces by folds. Stretching exercises like Yoga acts like best friend. (I feel proud to be called as yoga teacher at ÀIM.)
4. You should be very sure about ur diet. Running n cardio excercise losses muscles. Cutting fat and lossing weight r different faces. Those who think that running will help in making them linear, they r right but it may make h weak too if u opt to a wrong diet plan .
According to your body you should have good intake of proteins in Ur daily diet. Good carbs r very necessary to make u run.
Many people have misconception that eating less will make them thin n lean, actually it wil make u weak n lower Ur emunity. So before going for running u should be very sure about ur diet. Our coach says that body needs 30% excercise , 60% proper diet n 10% rest.
5. Last but not the least u should enjoy the process. Running is simply beautiful. Don’t run on hustle. Run gracefully u may not get medal , u may not complete run in desired tme but you would definitely win Ur own heart.
The priceless smile that come on your face when u reaches to the finishing line of Ur first half or full Marathon Wil keep u motivating for years.
